Detarium senegalense, commonly known as the Sweet Detar, is a species of flowering plant in the pea family, Fabaceae. This fruit is mostly enjoyed in West Africa. Still a traditional food plant in Africa, this little-known fruit has the potential to improve nutrition, boost food security, foster rural development and support sustainable landcare.[1]
